Walmart shared their Collector Con Products for the sale scheduled to begin 3/14/24 at 7:00 AM Pacific Time earlier today. Ah, Walmart Collector Con. Never does pre-ordering feel like such a gamble as it does with Walmart. It seems like lately I’ve been able to get my orders in okay, but getting them fulfilled has been hit or miss. I still have a General Grievous from Clone Wars that was never fulfilled that I can’t seem to cancel and they won’t send me. I think I grabbed one on clearance through Amazon eventually. Looks like NECA is going to have a livestream at noon with their drops too. Crossing my fingers that it all works out because there are a few things I’m really excited about getting. There’s a ton of stuff from Marvel Legends, Mattel Wrestlers and MOTU, NECA Ninja Turtles and others, Star Wars, Transformers, and G.I. Joe. A few that stood out for me include the NECA LJN tribute Warduke. I’ve got to get one of these carded.
The Professor Burke is also looking really cool. It’s so weird how iconic he’s become over the years when you can’t watch the movie he’s from.
I have to admit, I do not remember this droid at all from the show, but he’s colorful, got a new head we haven’t had yet and is on that great new R2 body, so I need him.
Finally, I really dig the look of the RAM in all black. I had been thinking about repainting an extra one I had black for Snake Eyes, but this saves me the trouble. The price seems a bit higher than I remember the previous RAMs which really sucks, but Shockwave does come with more stuff, just not what I see as ten bucks worth of more stuff. The helmet with red visor and drone are fun inclusions though. Shockwave is one of those figures I haven’t spent much time with since he came in along with a ton of other figures I was anticipating highly, so I need to grab him up out the display to evaluate if I need a Nightforce version. I think I do, but I’m not 100% sure yet. I do like the darker color scheme and I have all the rest of Nightforce, so I’m leaning towards yes and just eating the higher price.
