Employing a dazzling array of colorful tiles and hands-on fun, a new Magna-Tiles studio has opened in the Museum of Science and Discovery in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The STEM-forward kids’ museum houses the studio, which is complete with five stations offering little visitors different opportunities for educational fun. The Magnetic Marvels station introduces the concept of magnetism, while the Colorful Discoveries station offers kids the chance to see the interplay between light and color. Engineering Excellence allows kids an introduction to form, structure, and physics, while the 3D Build Extravaganza puts the onus on hands-on building. Finally the “Garage” Shop features a large magnetic garage and refrigerator door.
“This one-of-a-kind space was designed specifically for our fans – our future architects, designers, astronauts, and engineers,” says Magna-Tiles Senior Vice President of Marketing Michael Scheffki. “It’s a place where they can be creative. It’s a place where they can dream.”
The studio is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more about the exhibit and plan your visit by visiting the Magna-Tiles Studio site.
