The official trailer for Descendants: The Rise of Red is now available, so kids can get a glimpse into Wonderland!
Descendants: The Rise of Red is the fourth live-action Descendants movie. The franchise follows fairytale heroes and villains and their kids. Maleficent and her daughter Mal, Fairy Godmother and her daughter Jane, and more are featured throughout the films.
In the new movie, Ursula’s daughter Uma (a former Villain Kid) invites Villain Kid Red, the Queen of Heart’s daughter, to Auradon Prep. Following the Queen of Heart’s negative reaction to the invitation, Red and Cinderella’s daughter Chloe travel through time to stop her mother from becoming a villain. Like the first three movies, Descendants: The Rise of Red discusses friendship, family, morals, community, and more. The movie also features Brandy as Cinderella — parents might recognize the nod to her role in the 1997 film Cinderella!
The Descendants franchise also includes an animated series, Descendants: Wicked World, an animated short story titled Descendants: The Royal Wedding, and a live-action short story called Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story. Kids will recognize some of the characters from the additional series and stories in the new movie.
Descendants: The Rise of Red will debut on Disney+ on July 12. Until then, kids can watch the first three live-action Descendants movies, and the animated series, on Disney+!
