There are new Dr. Seuss books in the works — well, new books inspired Ted Geisel’s (Dr. Seuss) unseen art — and families can preorder the first story now.
The stories are part of Seuss Studios, a new collection of books published by Penguin Random House. This collection will feature original stories by emerging authors and illustrators, and each story will be inspired by Dr. Seuss’ unpublished sketches and illustrations, selected from the Dr. Seuss Collection archives at UC San Diego.
The first book in the series, Hello, Sun! by Lala Watkins, follows a worm, the sun, and their friends as they embark on different adventures throughout the day! The story encourages imaginative play and joins Penguin Random House’s Beginner Books line (which was started by Dr. Seuss). Hello, Sun! is for kids ages 3 and up and will be available on Jan. 7, 2025.
Each book, including Hello, Sun!, will include an image of the original illustration or sketch alongside a note from the author on why they chose that piece.
Sarah Hwang, Jerrard K. Polk, and Avani Dwivedi will be behind the creative wheel of the next few Seuss Studios books. Keep an eye, ear, and elephant trunk open for the new stories! Until then, you can preorder Hello, Sun! at the link below.
