Each year, American Girl creates a new doll that reflects and inspires little ones. Fall is here, so American Girl has revealed the 2025 Girl of the Year: Summer McKinny!
The doll has light-blue eyes, strawberry-blonde hair with pink coloring that’s styled in microbraids, and colorful outfits. The 18-inch American Girl doll comes with a tie-dye knit dress, matching sandals and bracelets, pink-and-purple glasses, white underwear, and the book. Kids who love to pursue their passions (and parents who want to support them) will identify with Summer’s story.
The new American Girl character is from Columbia, Maryland, and loves to bake. She likes to spend time learning baking techniques from her family and enjoys decorating desserts. She has a passion for dogs, and starts her own dog-walking business called Waggy Pup Tails. Summer also shares some of her profits with a local animal shelter and enters a youth entrepreneurship fair. In her book, kids can learn about Summer’s favorite hobbies and how she overcomes challenges, such as running a business, having patience, and asking for help.
